I did some laps around Lone Peak Park at night. I was tired after but didn't use up all my energy so I feel good about the workout. A couple more tempos at this speed and I think I could target 6:45 for Canyonlands instead of 6:55.

Yeah I think if you can do a couple more 5-6 mile tempos at that pace, it's a realistic goal for Canyonlands.

I have to change my plan a little, but that's what I want to do. Two 6-mile tempos at that pace. I have 4 more weeks of workouts so I'll easily be able to fit them in. On the other two weeks I'll probably do some 800m or 1600m intervals.

That seems like a sensible approach for the next month and good choice for the key runs.
